Minutes of International & Foundation Committees held at Dudley Hotel on 24.8.04.

Present - Tad Phillips (Chairman) - Paul Thrasher, Adrian Ball, Clive Chapple, Colly Coulson, Phil Shingler and Bob Hinton (Chairman Foundation Committee).

Matters arising from previous minutes -
1. Five aqua boxes had been ordered.
2. After discussion at Club Council the amount to be sent to the Sudan crisis was raised to £250.      Money was to be sent via District 1100 International Chairman who had contact with Red Cross.
3. 50 set - It was reported that a number of cheques were waiting to be given to Robin Chandler.
4. Bob Hinton reported that he would be making blackberry jelly in lieu fo marmalade due to unavailability of oranges at the present time for Spread and Save scheme for Foundation.

International Hospitality Lunch Party - To be held at Langleys on Sunday 12th September - at the present time more than 40 have stated that they would attend.

Belarus - Tad Phillips requested authorisation for a sum of £150 (cash) to be sent to Belarus children at Christmas for the purchase of sweets - agreed.

Tad Phillips (Chairman), Paul Thrasher, Malcolm Clayton, Colly Coulson, Tony Woodthorpe, Sylvie Paulsson and Robin Chandler (Foundation Committee)
Bob Hinton (Chairman) and Peter Fowle (Foundation Committee).

Water Filtration Plant - Bob Hinton reported that he still not received any response from the Rotary Club of Accra East regarding the installation of a water filtration pump, and that he would investigate an alternative source for
a pump installation. He would also enquire whether similar projects could be supported through Water Aid. A 50% grant was possible via this channel.

Aqua Boxes - Peter Fowle reported that two Aqua Boxes had now been completed and had been forwarded to the Rotary store.
It was recommended that five further boxes be obtained and filled during the coming Rotary year. Boxes cost approx £45 each.

Sudan - It was reciommended that £100 donation be made to the Sudan disaster fund.

GSE - Bob Hinton reported that there would be a visit from a GSE team from India next year and it was suggested that the Hove Club should get involved with hosting when the team were in the District.

Spread and Save - Bob Hinton would continue with the Spread and Save scheme in aid of Foundation funds and would make his own marmalade
to sell. Rotarians to fill jars with coin as before. Over £500 was raised during previous year by this means.

50 set - 50 set draw in aid of International Hospitality funds (visit to Hove in 2006) to be arranged and organised by Robin Chandler. Thanks were expressed to Malcolm Clayton who had made arrangements for a number of years.
